Salicylic acid can be found in several exfoliating products both over-the-counter in stores, and also in your Melanopeel physician’s offices. The main function of this beta hydroxy acid is to absorb oils your pores.
It is important that you pick products that contain a medically recommended amount of salicylic acid in them, since weaker salicylic acid products can cause your skin to be under-treated. You may notice that when using store-bought salicylic products they work for a few weeks, then your acne returns with a vengeance.
Salicylic acid is a wonderful crystal, and aspirin, which is anti-inflammatory contains salicylic acid. Our skin care and chemical peels with salicylic will also calm your skin when it begins to take effect. This does not mean that you should apply aspirin tablets to your acne – this form has not been purified for your skin and can result in a chemical burn that darkens the skin.
